At Mata Leao Combat Sports, our Kids Martial Arts Classes go far beyond just kicks and punches. We focus on building confidence, self-discipline, focus, and real-life skills—while making sure every child has fun along the way.
Martial arts is one of the most effective ways to teach kids how to protect themselves, stay fit, and develop lifelong character traits—all in a safe, structured, and engaging environment.





Ages 7-14 -- Unlike traditional striking arts, BJJ focuses on leverage, technique, and ground control—allowing a smaller person to neutralize a larger attacker. It’s one of the most effective martial arts for real-life self-defense situations.
Most of our new students start off their journey in our beginner Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes.
Ages 4-6 -- The earlier your kids start learning how to dynamically move their bodies, the better! Our Tiny Ninjas program offers play based jiu jitsu classes that teach the fundamentals of grappling. But it does so much more than that. It expands their minds and gives them the opportunity to problem solve and put their energy to good use!
Effective Self-Defense strategies and Bully-Proofing techniques are taught throughout all of our youth curriculums for beginner and advanced students. Not only do we teach physical defense techniques, but how to use our voice and actions to prevent attacks.
After a beginner student has been with us for long enough, they will be promoted to our Elite Warriors team where they can participate in advanced classes, sparring classes, no-gi jiu jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and become a part of our Leadership Team!
Often called the “Art of Eight Limbs,” Muay Thai uses punches, kicks, elbows, and knees to create a highly effective striking system. This class is available to our Elite Kids, those who have been with us for long enough to be promoted to our advanced group.
